If you had a hankering for
HTC previews to finish off your January in style, today's your lucky day. While you're probably still gawking at the
HTC Athena peek from earlier, the same lucky soul managed to get his palms around an HTC Vox, and being so kindhearted, we've got the results from another sweet photo shoot. It's about time we saw a few live snaps of this bugger too, as we've been waiting ever since it
got official and was
captured in the wild, and now you can get closer than ever without actually owning one yourself. Notably, a few more details were spilled out concerning the features (and lack thereof) of this
smartphone, as we learned that it does indeed lack 3G as well as a touchscreen LCD. What you will reportedly get, however, includes
Windows Mobile 6.0, 128MB of Flash ROM, a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, voice command recognition, QWERTY keypad
and a numeric pad, 802.11b/g, two-megapixel camera, microSD slot, and a TI OMAP 850 processor clicking along at 200MHz. Of course, exact specs and inclusions could change on retail models, but if you're interested in seeing all sorts of angles, not to mention shots of OS, be sure to hit the read link after clicking through and scroll on down.

Yes, most Windows Mobile Smartphone (or sould I say "Standard") Edition devices do lack a touchscreen. I don't think that was really anything we didn't already know. Still, the lack of 3G is a deal-breaker.

Hard for me to understand why every mid-to-high end CDMA device is 3G enabled, yet Cingular still rolls out so many high-priced devices with crappy EDGE. Come on Cingular, let's get 3G beyond they city limits.

Any rumors as to which US carrier will get this... and when?

Another non-flip, crappy 200 Mhz OMAP processor smartphone... Dear Lord, someone give us some Horse Power and a flip design!

I'd like to see another wm flip phone too. I have a Cingular 3125 right now and it's an awesome phone no doubt, but 3g and a bit more kick under the hood would be very welcome.
I'm lovin my unlimited data plan though - even at EDEGE speeds. I actually use the crappy camera because I can take a shot and have it online in like 5 minutes.
If only the thing could play youtube videos...

A 200 Mhz OMAP has just about the same horse power as 400 Mhz Xscale with about 30% better battery life. You need to better understand what the DSP does on the OMAP instead of just looking at raw clock speed.
