More details surface for Verizon's PN-820
Every now and then, Verizon will play with our emotions by setting a launch date for a device and then pulling it back when that info gets leaked by one of our tipsters. It wasn't too long ago when The Roc showed us pics of the device. Since then, the stores have received the dummy units and the price points have been set, so the actual launch can't be too far off. Thanks to HTC Kid, he was able to smuggle out the pricing which is listed as $349.99 commitment free, $299.99 on a one year, and $249.99 on a life long two year contract. Oh yeah, he reports that it should be in retail for launch on February 16th. Hopefully, it won't get delayed any longer as it may turn out to be last year's news if it does.

Well, at last: a FlipDA on Verizon, but Convergenista thinks it's ugly (stubby antenna in this day and age?). Why couldn't they get the Qtek 8500? Oh, well, looks like I'm leaving Verizon when my contract is up in July. Unless, of course, there's some BRILLIANT windows mobile touch screen device waiting in the wings...

VZW isn't teasing anyone, it's these rumors that come out waaaay before the product is released that get your hopes up.
Plus lately VZW has a tendency to wait till all the kinks are worked out before the officially release a phone, hence why you might hear of a phone long before it does eventually get released.

Wow. What a hideous looking phone. So V60-ish.

Well, hopefully this "leak" won't cause Verizon to push the launch date back any futher. I've had to wait on some phones in the past, but the delay in getting the PN-820 out is bordering on the ridiculous.

Anybody seen any recent news on the Moto Razr Maxx for verizon? Or was that just vaporware? I swear a guy that worked in the labs at verizon was on this site once vowed he had a test copy in his hand and that was like 4-5 months ago. sigh...........

They have a plastic "dummy phone" I actually held/saw in my local Verizon store yesterday. They told me business gets it Feb. 1st and then retail Feb. 16th. It is a very basic looking smartphone, like pre-Samsung I600. Unless it has a knock out list of features, I wouls wait anothor two months for the new HTC or Samsung smartphones.
This phone is pre-Jurassic looking as are most Panrech phones that seem to enjoy the "back to basics " look.

I got this phone yesterday. I have recently owned the Samsung i600, then the Treo 700W and after one day, I can already tell you this is the phone for me. Who gives a crap about the looks? For me, functionality is the key.
I really hated those hugh monsters hanging off my hip, although I must say the Treo 700w is a solid machine. I must have dropped it at least a half dozen times onto concrete and tile floors. It would knock the battery out, but has yet to miss a lick.
Because of my geographical location, I am locked to Verizon. I prayed for the day to come for a flip phone smartphone. This phone has all the features I need, is extremely lightweight, and most importantly (for me) is small enough to manage.
