We're trying to do everything we can to ease the crushing pain our dual-pivot loving readers face each and every day that the
U740 goes unreleased -- and on that note, here's another batch of eye candy. We hope it serves as a gentle reminder to Verizon that we'd like this thing to launch this century
s'il vous plait, and as a reminder to
D307 fans not to give up hope just yet (if you're willing to switch networks, anyway). Click on for more!

the D307 was an amazing phone especially in the design department. One of the many things they critized it for was that the navigation keys were also integrated into the keyboard cause they said that was too confusing. Well they changed it on this version but the key board looks way too cramped. Anyway, i sitll hope they bring this over to gsm eventually as i would definetly get it. You can't beat that dual pivot design even with a cluncky smartphone.

A blatant Korean copy of the Nokia N93.

Im pretty sure the d307 has been around before the N93. Which means that the nokia is the copy.

A gentile reminder? What, Jews can't get no U740 love?

where is the Moto MPX2? why did they ditch the entire design? the problem was the processor/memory, not the form factor. if this ran Palm or WM, i'd be all over it.

I'm glad VZW will be carrying another non-PDA/smartphone qwerty phone along with the vx9900 enV, but from everything I have heard on this one, it just isn't as good as the enV.
I've heard several people who have got the chance to use this phone cast doubts on the hinge durability, and that keypad just looks way too crowded and busy to be easy to use.
Samsung makes some good phones, but I have my concerns with this one. At the very least I hope they wait till they have a solid durable hinge on the phone before it's released.

I own the D307 (unlocked) and love it. It took me a week to figure out the keyboard and actually get comforable with the qwerty design but I love it. I think the dual hinge desing is very cool and inovative. All you out there that think the hinge is flimsy and will break are wrong. I never had a mechanical or technical problem with my phone. I can't wait for the U740 to be released. Once it does I'll be buying the unlocked version (if there will be any). If not, I'll have to switch to Verison.
PS: Maybe Motorola will bring back the MPX?

Butt-ugly.

This may sound rather stupid, but all I want to know about is its calendar capability. I like every other aspect of this phone and just want to know if it's going to have the same horrific calendar and scheduling options as all other non-PDAs available from Verizon.

Picked mine up today, its nice and small I'm a bit afraid of the strength of the pivot though so I opted for the insurance plan. Left hand fits awkardly around the left hinge in landscape mode.
