Yes, we're well aware this phone isn't actually in the works (well, we'd love to be wrong), but we can't deny the sexy curves and all around stylishness of this here
concept. This supposed SE handset sports a sleek, ultrathin design, flipdown keypad cover, silver accents, and what appears to be an OLED display. While "details" are scant, the word on the street is that it would pack a paltry 2GB of storage, 3.2-megapixel CyberShot digicam, FM radio, and instant bragging rights. C'mon
Sony, this is the world is
looking for, now let's get a release date, capisce? Click on through for a few more
mockups snapshots.

Now THAT'S hot! I'll be looking to replace my Samsung A900, and THIS would be a winner! Motorola's phones suck, as far as screen resolution, interface, and processing power go! I need a slim, sleek, and sexy phone that does web, 3g data, decent snapshots, and basic mp3 functionality. No one, besides Nokia (who doesn't make CDMA phones [but come to think of it, neither does Sony]) has come up with a more functional, slim, and just all around good phone since the launch of Samsung A900! Wasn't that a year ago!?!

why is 2gb paltry in a cell phone?
Marvin @ Jan 16th 2007 3:13AM
WOW! It finally looks like Sony's design department is actually starting to design their phones (rather than letting Ericsson do it as it terribly apparent in their current designs). This phone is uber-cool, sleek, sexy, image-concious and intelligent (not to mention hostile, but in that dark, forboding and HOT kind of way). Sony! Get the wax out of your ears and BUILD THIS THING! Forget the iPhone, I want one of THESE!

Thats a fan made concept, hate to break it to you guys, and it has been floating around for the good part of a 4-6 months.
Crossblade @ Jan 16th 2007 6:53AM
This is proven to be fan's work, not genuine concept work.

Why would you have a oled display on a phone that sports a 3.2 megapixel camera not to say you cant take a good photo without veiwing it first but come on you would expect it to come with a color screen
drjones @ Jan 16th 2007 9:41AM
Too bad it would be running that complete abomination UIQ, it it were real.

A very nice mock up. I think the slider cover over the keypad is redundant and unnecessary.
OT: Just thinking out loud; is there an actual product (phone or other device,) that I can hold in my hand right now that contains an OLED display? I get the impression that OLED is the ultimate tech for screens. I first heard about it a few years ago but I don't know that I've actually seen one in person or that I could tell that it was and oled screen if I were to see it. why is OLED so desirable?

Instead of checking out the mock-ups, check out Sony Ericsson's SO903iTV BRAVIA handset. I'm wondering how many Sony's consumer electroincs' brands are left for use by Sony Ericsson?

there is such as thing as an RGB oled (you know, like rgb LED, but that's not organic) i.e. full color. just not on any phone yet. i'd assume that's what it'd be. being a concept, let's say it is, cause you can say anything. why not?
maybe this is the first sign of a coming deluge of concepts in response to the apple phone: says executive: "WOW, there's that apple iphone - look at what happens when someone lets designers do what they want to, instead of us suits watering their ideas down through our endless committies. we better dig up some stuff right now that we already rejected in our ignorance to show the public we could design too, if we weren't so weak and scared in our corporate hive to do anything with any balls."
M-Nemesis @ Jan 17th 2007 9:51AM
FINGER PRINT MAGNET...although it is sleek and rather good looking, why even bother having a cover for the keypad? Why not just make it a slider. I also agree with the others...it should have a color screen if it is going to be taking 3.2MP snappies.

Ugly mockup and retarded. Where's the optical viewfinder? LOL!!
SE needs to hire NEC's industrial design division for their mockups instead of delusional fanboys.
