Plantronics' Discovery 665 headset with two-way DSP
Seems like every Bluetooth headset manufacturer is looking for a buzzword to describe their products' goodness in squashing ambient noise, but amazingly, Plantronics claims it's the very first to apply signal processing on both ends of the call in its Discovery 655-based "665." The DSP, called "AudioIQ," is said to reduce background noise by 7-8 decibels (roughly 50 percent) for folks on the far end of the call, while the wearer can expect improved "quality, clarity and volume level" as conditions vary. Look for the 9 gram headset to hit the streets next month for $150.

I'd be interested in side by side comparisons of all the DSP headsets, such as the plantronics, Jabra, and jawbone. I had a plantronics 510a which I loved, but the background noise the others were hearing made it hard for others to hear me. I switched to a Jawbone bluetooth, and now it is quiet when the DSP is turned on.

I have used the following headsets:
Jabra: BT200, BT250, BT800
Sony Ericsson: HBH330, HBH-GV835
Plantronics: Discovery 640, Disco 645
Here are my opinions...I wear spectacles..
Best to wear (comfortable and secure: BT200, 250 and HBH-GV835 - no contest! That's the form factor.
Least Comfortable: BT800, Jawbone
Most robust pairing (P910, E62): Jawbone, Disco 645
Best overall design: Disco 645
Best sound to the party on the other end of the line while I drive (very fast): Jawbone - no contest!
Best in wind - BT250 with a radio shack foam mic mouse on the end.
Best overall: Jawbone.
All IMHO!

Are you sure it's the 665 not 655? According to Plantronics, it's not suppose to be shipping until Feb. 2007

can anyone confirm that this works with macintosh osx , I'm looking to kill two birds with one stone (phone and computer.)
I've read the 640 works but am hoping the newer models do as well. I've chatted with plantronics and they claim no support whatsoever and I'm not entirely sure I was talking to someone that knew what they were talking about.
