Oooh, lookey! See that lil' orange splat on the left? With phones like the
Samsung SYNC in Cingular's 3G arsenal, the
V3xx won't be unique by the time it launches -- and it
certainly won't be the first bearing HSDPA -- but hey, broadband data is still broadband data; we'll take what we can get and eat it up with grins on our faces. To be fair, with its meager 1.3 megapixel cam, the V3xx is a great choice for folks that want little more than a basic stylish (by 2004 standards) clamshell that can double as a rip-roarin' modem. Just keep it cheap, Cingular, and we can put our support behind this one. Follow the break to see 'er in the upright and locked position (hint: it looks pretty much like any other RAZR closed).

Looks like Cingular kept the second video conference camera. Could they be launching video conferencing finally (not that I'd ever use it)?

I just hope it isn't riddled with problems like the other RAZRs... Or better yet, I wish motorola would just stop making cellphones...

raulr, I gots bad news for ya. Look closer - it definitely does NOT have an inner camera.

#3 Why would you care if a company makes products? I used to like Motorolas but moved on to more feature rich phones. The Q was ok but I am sick of these RAZR styled phones so I just moved on but if Motorola keeps pumping them and people keep buying the same old things more power to them.

from all indications this phone is actually going to be called the IZAR...it is currently on the pricing sheets as "coming soon"

Yeah, I opened that pic up in Photoshop and compared it to another pic I have of the Japanese version, and it looks like Cingular has removed the second, user facing, video camera. My guess is Cingular had Moto take the camera out and then cover the whole with some black plastic.
Thats really sad, but not surprising...
...live two video calling would make people happy and that is not what Cingular does.

Everything I read says this is triband (no 850MHz) and thus wouldn't work on Cingular's network. What gives and why can't I find any quadband V3xx's around now?

I understood Cingular was about to be re-branded as AT&T. Shouldn't they be putting AT&T logos on the phones instead? I doubt that AT&T will be keeping Cingular's orange doohickey logo after they take over.

To the poster that was wondering, the hardware in this phone and the non-cingular v3xx's floating around is different.
jim crain @ Jan 8th 2007 5:59PM
V3xx is right model for this phone. Iazr is slider. Coming soon, too. Again About 6 mos too late, but coming soon none the less
Kevin @ Jan 8th 2007 8:06PM
When is this phone going to be released??
Jeff @ Jan 22nd 2007 12:32PM
no #11 V3xx and Izar are both correct names for this phone. The slider phone you are thinking of is the Rizr. While the Rizr is not available on US carriers, it is available elsewhere. Unlocked versions can be found on eBay for about $235 USD. I will hopefully be getting mine soon.
