Release dates have played with our emotions in the past and we are sure they will be played with again, but this time we have some faith in our
tipster. Looks like Verizon Wireless has decided to internally announce their newest Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone to the lineup, the
Black Motorola Q. Now, we know that it looks similar to its silver brother externally, but it comes with a software update named MOL2. This update corrects such issues as the Goodlink data stall issue, adds jog dial control via Bluetooth headset and improves battery life. Expect this black bad boy to cost an extra $50 across the board and to be out on the web December 12th and in retail January 12th. So how far behind will
Sprint be? Guesses, anyone??

Oh, we Sprint folks will probably get our hands on it sometime in 2007.

Still no wifi?

All I have to say is that Verizon better release this software update to the current silver Motorola Q crowd. If not, expect villages to be burned and public hangings to resume.

Rev A anyone?

I'm afraid will Verizon will get a new 6 month exclusive contract on the Black Q, just to screw Sprint over.

I just spoke to a customer service rep at Verizon. He said there is a Black Motorola Q coming out around Christmas time. He also said that there is no difference in battery life. That's all the details he would give me.

I would burn my Q. I get, give or take, half a day of battery, and thats when it isn't shuting down, frezing up, or just plain not working.
Mike @ Dec 5th 2006 9:51PM
I called back to get another rep on the phone and he CONFIRMED that December 12th online the Black Q will be available. It will be on the Verizonwireless.com website. He said the price will be $50 more. Lets hope the real world battery life is better than the current Q.
