Verizon's LG VX8600 Chocolate flip launched
After a brief visit to their "testman" staging site this morning, Verizon went ahead and kicked out the LG VX8600 Chocolate flip without further ado. Still sportin' the specs leaked back in September, the VX8600 will cost you $129.99 on a two year contract after the on-line discount -- the rumored $249.99 full-retail / $229.99 one-year options don't appear on the site, yet. That buys you into a fashionable, V Cast musicphone with microSD expansion, A2DP stereo audio over Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel shooter, and what's this... an enabled speakerphone -- gasp.

Hello Cingular? Where's the N75? I'm getting very impatient.
Rico @ Nov 15th 2006 11:45AM
I hope this phone comes to Sprint PCS! Because on the Verizon website it doesn't call it a Chocolate phone,It calls it the LG VX8600 and it doesn't say exclusive like the Black and White Chocolate Slider Phone.

You're a fool if you think this is anything like a rebranded Samsung A900. They don't even have the same feature set...and this phone is ten billion times more sexy than that juggernaut (although much less feature packed).

Its $249.99 but has an online discount of $50, for $199.99 full retail.
I checked for an upgrade.

Now this is what i am talking about this is so much better looking that the LG KG800 phone or the Chocolate phone as everyone knows it as, come on look at it, the styling is similar to the Motorola V3 but with the added twist of style from LG. well done oh and is this coming to the UK and if so please tell me when and at what price.
Steve @ Nov 16th 2006 3:10PM
I suppose this is like the A900, much as it's like the RAZR and every other thin flip phone out there. Of course, having a microSD helps the cause. And longer talk time.

Got mine for 1 yr.. its 179.99 instead of the 2 yr @ 129.99
elgee02 @ Nov 16th 2006 5:04PM
I don't know where you got your price Dustin, but with a 2 yr agreement the phone is actually $129.99 after $50 MIR.
elgee02 @ Nov 16th 2006 7:56PM
Ah nevermind, you were referring to full retail. I missed that the first time, my bad.

Does anyone know if this will be available in Canada anytime soon and with which carrier?

I got the "flip" yesterday and love it. Does anyone know when Verizon will have the "Pink Chocolate?" My daughter wants it for Christmas.
elgee02 @ Nov 17th 2006 10:33AM
I talked to an LG rep and all he could confirm is that Pink is a definite possibility, but no concrete decision. If you want one before Christmas I wouldn't hold my breath though. Red (Cherry Chocolate) and Green (Mint Chocolate) should be launched on 11/22 though, and I am actually rather fond of the Red myself. Just wish Verizon didn't have to name all colors of the 8500 after some type of chocolate, lame.
chuckles @ Dec 5th 2006 10:02AM
Does anyone know if the VX8600 will be coming in different colors like Verizon's original Chocolate? I would definitely wait for the 600 to come out in white, just to avoid the nasty fingerprint issues that the 600 has. It would look real sexy too...
ryan @ Apr 21st 2007 2:26PM
yeah it has an enabled speakerphone but it's not very loud. and mine always has problems.
i got it for my birthday ( januaury 5th and here it is april ) and ive had it replaced 10 times no lie and verizon won't let me swap for a different phone.
