Motorola V325i gets official for Verizon

If the lack of Bluetooth on Motorola's V325 for Verizon was really getting you down, the previously-revealed V325i looks to be your knight in shining armor now that it's hitting store shelves. Otherwise, the phone remains relegated to one of the lower rungs in the carrier's lineup, packing a meager VGA cam, 30MB of user-accessible storage, a black-and-white external display, and 220 x 172 resolution on the primary. Kinda makes the VX8600 look like a superstar, doesn't it? Grab the V325i for a very reasonable $30 on contract. Or don't -- we won't hold it against you.

Despite the lack of external storage, mp3 player, 2+ megapixel camera, the current v325 (and the v265, v276 before it) gets excellent reception and comes in a decent looking form factor. Plus, it's one of Verizon's few remaining tri-band CDMA phones, which means you can still make analog calls in the middle of nowhere where you're buddies with their fancy LG Chocolates, k1m's or whatever will be out-of-luck.

The v325 is actually an excellent phone. I've been selling Verizon phones for about 5 years. Many phones have been some serious pieces of ..., but that is to be expected of any carrier. The v325 is quality phone at it's current price, and the vast majority of people would be well served to pick it up while the current promotion lasts. It's a much better buy than the other bogo offers.

Got V325i a week ago. Coming from a V188 on T-Mobile I had to adapt a little bit to the "Verizon" menu system, but am getting along with the phone now, and it works well. I got it because Consumer Reports reviewed all of the current Verizon phones in the Jan 07 issue and this was the higher rated of only 2 which still have an Analog radio in them. The downside for sure, is that you have to do a seem hack in order to use Motorola Phone Tools for file transfers over BT or USB. While researching the hack I found out that Verizon is disabling BT and USB file transfers on ALL current (and likely future) Moto phones. Real pain in the rear.
