Treo 750 passes FCC muster
We don't need to tell you what it means when the Treo 750 passes FCC muster, nor do we need to explain to you what carrier on which to expect it. All you need to know is that whenever you see that confidentiality agreement slide by and that FCC ID label plastered up, you know it won't be long until you'll be holding one in your hands -- if you love Treos, anyway.

We want Wifi, faster CPU, and more memory

Hmm..it has the SD logo on there though. Is that also used for mini-SD cards, which the 750 should have?
Donny @ Nov 9th 2006 4:27AM
I did remember reading somewhere that the US version of the 750 would take ful size SD where as the 680 would have a mini-SD.
LoganT @ Nov 9th 2006 4:33AM
Actually I think it was the other way around Donny.

Is this actually coming to Cingular. I know that it is listed in their Rebate form.
But do we have any other confirmation. What about price and release date?
Sean @ Nov 9th 2006 1:23PM
Reply to #6 Adam.
No confirmation yet, but more than one Cingular person has told me that they're expecting the 680 and 750 within the next 2 weeks. However, they also said not to hold my breath because as we all know, Cingular is notorious for holding up the release of new equipment.

Here is a link to a pic for the gadgeteer web site of a Treo 750v with the back off and battery removed. It also says SD but you can't read the fine print. I would assume that the US version is also a mini-SD The pic is about 40% down the page.

Why is this tagged with Windows Mobile? Isn't the 750 Palm OS while the 750v is WinMo?

"Why is this tagged with Windows Mobile? Isn't the 750 Palm OS while the 750v is WinMo?"
The 750 is simply the generic version of the 750v (i.e. without Vodafone), so it's still a WM5 devide. The 680 is the new PalmOS phone (but of course different in spec to the 750).

I have been holding onto my 600 waiting for a phone to induce me to buy. I am currently with Sprint (I am in Real Estate Develepment, and with a lot of subcontractors being on Nextel, I save close to
3000 minutes a month with my Sprint to Sprint/Nextel minutes). Sprint currently has the 700. From what I can tell, there is not a huge upgrade between the 700 and 750 besides form and the antenna. Would everyone's advice to be just stick with sprint and go for the
700?
Drew @ Nov 10th 2006 12:00AM
Any idea on release date?
josh @ Nov 11th 2006 11:05AM
Matt, Rumors on Treocentral have it that Sprint will release the 750 fairly soon, but after cingular

I went to a Cingular store today, and the guy at the store told me that the 750 will have BOTH PalmOS and WM, and be able to switch between the two. I think he was probably on crack, but has anybody else heard this?
Razor1973 @ Nov 20th 2006 2:04PM
#13, he didn't know what he was talking about, but what's new? The 680 will have Palm O/S, while the 750 will be WM5. He probably heard this from someone and figured it was all one device. Clueless.

Warning for potential buyers of Treo 750v.
Have purchased an unlocked Treo 750v in Indonesia last week. When used on another than the Vodafone affiliated network in Indonesia, PT Excelcomindo Pratama (in short XL), the phone is continuously bombarded by "Messages from the Network", constantly updating it with information about the base station I am using at any given time. This is the so called cell info display. This is not only very annoying, but it also renders the phone a crippled piece of equipment as these messages fire up the screen and thus drain the battery within one hour ! There is no way to disable this function (Palm admits this) and even when you totally disable all notifications for incoming messages, which means you won’t know if and when you receive other messages as well, the screen will still light up like a Christmas tree !!! Palm is aware of the problem but insists it does not have to solve this “provider and Windows Mobile 5.0 related issue” and that they have tested the phone on Vodsafone and Vodafone related networks worldwide, further suggesting that the phone will only work properly on those networks. Why then, they sell the Treo 750v unlocked ? Shame on you, Palm.
