doesn't telstra use HSDPA on 850/1900? if so, couldn't this be imported for use with the big orange?

If it will work on all the US bands.....even as with just GPRS...not even EDGE....I would cry I would be so happy. I have always wanted a RAZR....and this phone is so nice looking. So nice.

Telstra has a WCDMA network operating on 850MHz and 2100Mhz (UMTS). They only have HSDPA running on 850MHz at this time but they can run it on both bands if they want to.
Will it work on Cingular? Sure it will work fine on Cingular's 850MHz network. Though some of Cingular's 3G services may not work on a phone without Cingular software, but for the most part you should be able to use it just like any other unlocked phone.

I keep reading that verizon is getting the maxx, correct me if im wrong, but I was under the impression that verizion could not support 2 way video calling? if thats the case, why would they get this phone. Motorola was supposed to be one of cingulars 3g launch partners, yet all we see from them is yet another razr (v3r) that doesnt even have edge.?

Does anyone know if the MAXX V6 has voice dial, or a speaker phone? I have not seen this listed anywhere. The USA (Cingular, which I have) will probably get this phone in a year or more, after all the rest of the world, including "third world countries", get it first! Why are we always the last to get new models? I hope the wait lets them get the bugs worked out, and not cut out features available elsewhere. Thanks for letting me vent.

O and verizon is definately not getting this phone seeing as how this is a gsm phone and verizon uses a CDMA network.
This phone will also not be able to support cingulars 3G network becuase cingular uses the 1900 Mhz UMTS band for 3G where as the Maxx uses the 2100 Mhz UMTS Band.

Jedixjarf---Thanks for your reply, and pointer to that web site. I use voice dial a lot, but rarely speaker phone--nice if it will come with it though. The specs I have seen, only say handsfree. I think I read on a site that in the US, 2100Mhz is used for military communications, so I doubt it will ever be available for civilian use in the US. I read on the mod site that Cingular would probably have to have Motorola make a 1900 version for them, and maybe that is the reason that Cingular has not announced anything yet, as it would take extra time to make a new version just for them. Hope they carry it sometime soon though.

Motorola had better very soon get on the ball with the MAXX V6, or in June, the Cingular announced iphone from APPLE will wipe it off the map!
