Clearest pictures yet of Verizon's LG VX8600

With rumors coming fast and furious that the Chocolate flip -- alias LG VX8600 -- will be launching this month on Verizon, we thought we'd take this opportunity to publish clear, high-res pics of the hotness from virtually every angle. As a refresher, the high-fashion musicphone will hit us up with a 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD expansion, A2DP, and GPS. All those specs are reminiscent of its slider sibling, the VX8500, save for one important detail: this time, it'll launch with an enabled speakerphone. We don't have details on pricing as of yet, but look for a $50 rebate out of the gate. Click on for more eye candy!

So yesterday i was helping my boss pair his bluetoot headset to his
razr. I had no idea howmuch of a bastardization the verizon
customization was to their phones. I had no idea what i was doing,
it is NOTHING like moto's UI (even tho they have one of the worst
UIs), i was completely lost, and it solidified my stand that verizon
is the bane of cellular providers.Anyway, regarding this phone, nice formfactor, but its still LG and its still verizon.

Verizon UI steps to pair a bluetooth...

go to Settings and Tools
go to connections
go to Blueooth.
pairing code is 0000.

Now that you know, you can pair with any phone that has a Verizon Wireless UI

Is this the phone the LG folks were whining about - that the KRZR is supposedly a copycat? Judging from these pics, the only similarity is the thin form factor.

Yes, this is the phone. And, yes, the main complaint has been the look is pretty similar. Of course, they have similar capabilities, but so do most handsets these days.

This is a sa-WEET phone! I was able to play with it at an LG conference with this and the much-hyped 9900 (V2?).

Anyway, this phone does mirror the KRZR/A900 Samsung factor, but it's just way better than that. Its interface is easy to get around in, plethora of features (A2DP!++), and a sleek design. And yes, this is what the phone looks like...sch-mexy! =)

Is it pretty a given that everytime VZW comes out with a new phone that someone has to start griping about the UI? From a tech support and customer satisfaction standpoint, the VZW UI is brilliant. Does the UI have any impact on your ability to make a call? Does it have any impact on your ability to send a text message? No it does not. If you don't like it, dont' use it. There is no shortage of carriers and phones for you to go choose, that's the beauty of capitalism.

You are sooooooooo right VZW Fred.....The guys/gals who complain are the same tools who will come into the store and wanna talk "seam edit hacks" and other stupid things that the general public has no idea about. It took a week but I love the new menu's, same on all the phones, easy to explain to mom/dad and 99% of my customers. They make me look good because I know every option of every phone. Anyone complaining, go buy a tmobile turd or a cheap plastic feeling turd from sprint. ha....Also, if the menu's reallllllllllllly are that annoying, buy a pda...

Pairing bluetooth on any VZW phone takes less than a minute, and it's not complicated at all.

The 8600 is gonna be freakin' sweet, much better than the KRZR (and I like the KRZR!)

It takes less than 10 sec to pair my headset..As soon as I take it off the charger it automatically syncs, cant get any easier than that.

The reason folks gripe about the Verizon UI is that it's not easy to use. It is better for Verizon, because the UI is consistent throughout all handsets, making their customer rep jobs easy and efficient.

However, a great UI design has aspects that can be appreciated. It's simplicity to use, makes it pleasurable to use. That's why some people like Apple and Google: they pay attention to UI design.

After some point, even common folks will blame the UI design, and not themselves, if they can't figure out pair their bluetooth headset with their phone.

As with anything, there will be those who find an interface easy and those who don't. Blackberry is a prime example. Any UI is easy to use once you know how to use it. It would be most advantageous if all cellular companies agreed to a single UI, but that will most likely never happen.

I picked this phone up last week when I had my "new with 2" upgrade and I am very happy with it so far.
This is the first time using a Bluetooth enabled phone and it is going to be very nice to have this option.

The phone to me just feels good. I am looking into the MP3 possibility as I do carry a seperat MP3 player on the road. It will be intereting to see how that feature works and the impact on battery life, etc.

There is actually some menu "Themes" that look pretty good compared to the generic ones i am used to seeing in the Verizon phones.

One other thing was that i was looking at the KRAZR as well and the displays on the VX8600 just seemed to be a little more crisp. Also the pricing for the KRZR was also a factor.

Got the LG 8300 and you can not turn the volume up high enough. Does any one know how the volume is on the 8600. I have 15 days to exchange the 8300 ..

I just got the LG8600 on Dec.6. It has some pretty neat features and I have had no problems with it so far only that I wish you could on lock
certain sections of the phone instead of the whole thing but I love it!!

Anyone know where I can find a USB hookup to the computer for the 8600? I havent found one and I would love to have my music on my phone.
