Jim: My experience is that the mini-USB "wears out" after time & becomes really lose & easy to pull out (so Motorola's earphones fall out easily).
Nokia's pop port is annoying, but my experience is that it doesn't become lose in time (same w/ Sony Ericsson's new plugs). It is bothersome that they have a charger & a pop port - one plug should be enough.
