Johnny, this is not true. Although there are no official upgrades, any device that can technically run a newer version of windows mobile can be upgraded to use that newer version. Usually the OEM doesn't release official upgrades because well it wouldn't be worth it to them financially.
But you can upgrade your device. I have windows mobile 5 running on my Siemens SX66 (which shipped with pocket pc 2003). And fully plan to upgrade it to Crossbow when that releases (if it can handle it).
I have been trying to figure out how to put Windows Mobile 5 or 6 on my Siemens SX66. I was fascinated and impressed when I read your comment that you had already put WM5 on your SX66. Would you mind sharing info on how I could do the same? I can't even find a copy of WM5 to work from. WM6 upgrades are available for 2 T-Mobile devices, but I would expect that modifications would be necessary on my AT&T/Cingular device?
