Palm briefly confesses to Treo 680, 750 for Cingular

Why is it that you have such a devil of a time keeping a lid on your product pipeline? It seems like in those precious few moments when your carriers aren't leaking documents describing unreleased Treos, you're doing it yourself. No bother; we already knew darned well Cingular would be getting a pair of new handsets from you, freshly freed of their pesky external antennas, in Palm OS and Windows Mobile flavors -- we just wish you'd make it a little more challenging to scoop the deets sometimes. Anyway, you've got a crowd of Palm fanatics anxiously awaiting your 680 and 750 here in the US, so let's get this show on the road, shall we?
Love,

C'mon low end CDMA Treo... I don't want high speed data services (well, I do, but I sure don't want to pay for ), and I sure don't want to pay $600, I just want a phone that's also a PDA and does a reasonable job of both.

I would definitely buy the 750, if in fact; they offer it with the Palm OS. It’s a far site better chance to sync with a Mac without using that other bolt-on hack. The build quality is head and shoulders above the competition and the elimination of the external antenna places it over the top!

fishy. They offer their product with their OS at a lower tech than with WM. I personally love wm and hate palm os,, but I do think that the silver is much more sleek ;),, the silver is BASICALLY 650 no antenna plus 100 more mhz and 750 is the 'upgrade'.

Had my hands on 750 since last week, beautiful Treo with WM 5.0... but I'd prefer it come with wi-fi.
Also for 680, it does have bluetooth. I had the 680 for about 3 weeks now, it looks pretty much identical layout/form-factor as to 750, the keyboard feels really nice.

I am happy, I was waiting for a new Cingular Smartphone before Christmas. I am happy with the 750,though I wanted Wi-FI, I guess Cingular wouldn't let people not pay for high speed data. Now to decided between this and the HP phone.

Does anybody else notice the significant size difference in the expansion slot cover on the 680? Could it be that the "lower-end" model has superior SD technology (full-sized, that is). Also, it looks slightly thinner overall? WTF?!?!, no wifi, miniSD and putting Fullsized SD on a thinner "low-end" palmOS version is insulting. I imagine that the lack of infared port on the 680 allows for this change but who uses the infared port anyways???? give me a full-sized SDIO slot and i will choose the peripherals i want at my own convenience!!!! And for everyones sake, put a freaking 320x320 screen and a 2mp camera on this thing.

Sorry for the long rant. I've been dreaming about this phone since it was called hollywood. Everytime some news comes out about it, the phone gets worse. I just needed to vent.

If I am not mistaken this is the breakdown:
680 = "Lowider"
750 = "Lennon"
XXX = "Hollywood"
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Palm Treo 750....NO WIFI? The Cingular 8125 has it. Why are they punishing us. Question: can't I put in a wifi sd card in it? Palm sells them for $100. Maybe, Palm is keeping holding back the wifi to dig in our pockets NOT cingular....any thoughts?

MiniSD slots are much more popular in Europe, where the 750v is primarily targetted at.
