Motorola KRZR K1m drops in on Verizon sites
It looks like Verizon's gearing up for the K1m variant of Motorola's MOTOKRZR to drop any minute now, what with the slim RAZR successor making a variety of cameos across Verizon's intranets these days. It was no secret that they'd be getting the phone, but now we have a price: $199 on a two-year contract, likely positioning it to do head-to-head battle with upcoming VX8600 Chocolate flip from rival LG. We still don't have an exact date to pass along, but if history is planning on repeating itself yet again, we're guessing we'll see it before Sprint's launch.

Way to go, Sprint. Hope your K1M isn't too far behind.

I swear if Verizon dropped that stupid UI I would drop my Altell account!!

This is great! My (borrowed) Kyocera slider is about to explode.
If the UI is anything like the chocolate phone, it might not be (as) bad... Friday happy funtime :) :P

i've heard from reliable alltel sources that the K1m was tested on fast-track testing which concluded last week. usually fast-track phones come out 4-5 weeks after testing finishes.
another reliable "all wireless talk" board member told me he's seen a mid - end of october release date for alltel.

as long as verizon is plastering is crappy UI on everything, ill never be a customer.

I dont understand why Verizon insists on putting their own UI on all their phones; i mean, their strategy of "streamlining" the menus doesnt really seem to be working. If you look at that link and view some of the instructions that they had for the k1m, its really sad to see how many there really are, which pretty much goes against the simplification of the menus.

Just got a K1 last week. The screen is smaller than V3 but has the same 176x200 resolution. So... words seem to be too small for the eyes sometimes. You almost need to squint X.x The design is nice, and feels good in the hand. But moto software is seriously lacking features and responsiveness. Aside from a subway ride show-off, I don't find much value in this hyped phone.

When is Cingular getting thise phone? I am sitting on an upgrade waiting for something decent to jump to. I liek the LG choco a lot but all of Cingulars phones suck right now.

Heh, if it wasn't for the vx8600 I would have been all over this. Although, if the vx8600 is far off then I may get the K1m.
