Add a letter, call it good: Samsung A900M for Sprint
In the realm of low-key product updates, the Samsung SPH-A900M may just take the cake; it's essentially an A900 Blade with different software (the external music control buttons appear to have changed color, too, but that doesn't meet our stringent criteria for a "product update"). Previously rumored across the Internets as the A900P, the re-upped model supports Qualcomm's uiOne interface customization, supposedly enabling fantastical themes that A900 users could only dream of. Otherwise, the specs seem identical -- on the whole, we encourage owners of the original to keep their envy to a minimum.

Yeah what a joke. At least the price is the same. U'd think they would have at least fixed the lack of learning T9 issue, but that's probably too much to ask for. They'd probably think you were crazy to ask for expandable memory in this day and age too. Whatevs...

Yes, this is purely a software refresh, albeit one that reduces the available memory for content storage to 47M because of growth in the footprint of the on-board apps. It's amazing that the A900 made it to market without a memory-card slot, considering how this is positioned as a multimedia phone. Guess we know what the big change is going to be for the A901...

The a900m also allows the use of apps like garmin mobile and telenv that don't work correctly on the original a900. These apps work great for CDMA GPS navigation. Thats a more important revision than the UI theme addition imo.

from what my sprint rep told me, (at a Radioshack Corporate meeting) Was this 900m would have not only a increased battery life, better bluetooth functionality, have increased support of GPS applications, but my Rep specifically said this one was being released with MicroSD expansion. Not sure if I was lied too, or the full info has not come out.

(Ill try and find the documentation I recieved on it)

Having played with the 900M, I can assure any doubters that there is no memory card slot, or anything interesting at all to speak of. The only instantly-recognizable changes are that they've changed the audio tone on the button-presses and incorporated themes.

I heard on other forums that the T9 has now been fixed, and that the GPS works. Those two alone are almost worth releasing an update - I have an a900 (not the M) and the problems with the T9 and GPS are my only complaints.

They should've included a MicroSD slot.

I recieved this phone a900m today. Sprint guaranteed that the telenav gps service would work. Unfortunately,
the a900m is not a compatible device with telnav. Will return the unit and stay with my a920 better. Also the battery life did not upgrade at all. My wife has the a900 i gave her last year as a gift. Same features. Only thing that changed is that it has a nicer screen and graphics. First bat. chrg, 1.8hr tlk time.

Does anyone know how to upload pictures from the A900M. I have the wire and it is connected to the USB port. The InstallWizard comes up but it says there isn't any information regarding the software and it has no setup mode because I guess you need a CD. Is there any website or someone I can call to get this CD or to download it because I can't figure it out for the life of me. This sucks so bad. I want to upload them to my computer but Sprint blows balls once again.
My email is ralphdoubletaps@yahoo.com

If I put my phone in my back pocket I notice the battery level goes down to zero in no time due to the fact that the external mp3 buttons make the lcd screen go on and off constantly. Does anyone know how to lock those buttons or disarm them completely? I never use them...
