Samsung's T519 becomes the Trace

The official specifications and the real, non-numerical name of Samsung's T519 have been revealed on a "coming soon" page on T-Mobile's official site. From now on, Samsung expects you to refer to the T519 as the Trace, which certainly suits the handset's 0.3-inch thickness. Other specs that we weren't too sure of until now include the phone's 1.3 Megapixel camera with video capture, built-in Bluetooth, MP3 / WMA / AAC player, AOL and Yahoo! instant messaging support, and a speakerphone, on top of the microSD slot that we already knew about. Nothing special specs-wise, although we're sure the target demographic of these ubër-thin fashion phones will be happy with what's on offer.

We already have these phones in the stores. Fairly decent phone, $199 MSRP with no contract (very cheap), and a definite imporvement over the T509.

$99 with contract, which is making me pick up this phone when it goes on sale. I had a T509 for about a week and loved it, but had to get rip of T-Mo because my brother hated that we got no service in our house.
I really don't care if a cell phone works in a house, so I'm going back to T-Mo for this.

I bought one. This is the phone I have been looking for - nice screen, memory card (I bought a 1GB card, works great for my music needs), bluetooth, decent camera, excellent phone for the price. No more downloading ringers - make your own from MP3's in a program such as Audacity, and upload them via Bluetooth or the optional Samsung data kit (59.99 at the T-Mobile website). Now I don't have to buy an iPod. :-) I have only three issues with this phone. 1. The alert sound for incoming text messages is limited to the 4 built in sounds, and they are too long for me. 2. No stereo headphones available?!? I don't want to listen to music through an earpiece. 3. Honestly, this phone -could- be a little thicker and I wouldn't have a problem with it. It can be a little hard to hold.
Overall, I love it - I'm not going to be changing phones any time soon. Samsung - make stereo headphones for this thing!!
