The Boy Genius Report: Verizon 8703 spec sheet

Boy Genius apparently won't be satisfied with the BlackBerry news, so we've no choice but to give the public what the public wants. We received technical specs and a brochure on the BlackBerry 8703e on Verizon, which we couldn't post until today without compromising our source. Yep, it confirms everything. Nothing really new and exciting, except if you're one of those CrackBerry addicts that's been waiting impatiently on this for almost a year now.

is it just me or there a few too many labels on this add? Do we really need line and label telling us that the button labeled "Space" is the spacebar? or the key labeled "Alt" is the alternate key?
Why not jsut label the entire alphabet?
Oooooo, my Blackberry comes with a an G key, wow, the features they shove into these things!

How could you be worried about compromising your source when BlackBerry Cool had this up yesterday?
Here's the link:

I think it came from BlackBerry Forums or something

There are several release dates floating around, from September 1 to late October. Can anyone confirm a hard release date? Thank you.

The upcoming Blackberry 8100 is interesting because it has a number of radical changes from all previous Blackberries (smaller, stereo audio, removable micro-SD card, trackball, etc) - but why the excitement about the 8703?
The 8703 is just the 8700 but for cdma/evdo. Yes, EVDO is faster than EDGE, but the device is also slower for many tasks because it does not have an 312 mhz Intel CPU like the 8700 does. This is the same as the 7130g/c devices versus 7130e device. The 7130e is hella-slow for somethings. For most currecnt use it won't matter - but if they are trying to make the leap into multi-media and gaming then the Qualcomm stuff won't cut it.
Once the GPRS networks bump up to UMTS and RIM follows through with an Intel based UMTS, the only signicant difference will be that the cdma/evdo devices will be lacking in processing capanbility - unless RIM takes some sort of, non-integrated approach to have Qualcom radio + intel CPU (i.e. more costly).
Interestingly, RIM has removed all the intel logos and the references to the Intel from the device spec sheets on their website. WHY? They don't want to tick off the CDMA carriers.

Where are you seeing that the 8703 will not use the 312Mhz Intel CPU? I have not seen that anywhere.

Masteric, the Intel chip is for GSM devices only, that's why it's not mentioned. You can tell by going to the RIM website. Every BlackBerry that has an intel chip inside has the 'INTEL INSIDE' logo.

I've been calling the Verizonwireless store for the new Blackberry 8703e release...they have no clue. Any verizon reps out there with an exact release date?
