Palm Treo 700wx for Sprint in the wild
The 700wx looks to be trickling into Sprint retail locations as we speak, and it seems everything we've been told about the device so far has been spot-on: it really is bound for Sprint, the addition of the "x" to the name is legit, and it rocks double the RAM (much to the chagrin of plain ol' 700w users everywhere), though we weren't necessarily expecting the big, scary floating head on the box. Still no solid word on an official availability date, but stores who've received them have apparently been instructed to keep them under lock and key until Sprint proper starts offering them, meaning the previously-reported August 27 date for business customers still seems perfectly plausible. Now if you'll excuse us, we have a Treo 750 rumor mill to attend to.

Yes. You should. And you should just thank the Mobile Gods that you're not one of the unlucky saps paying three times as much for data on a memory-crippled Treo.
Hey Verizon? Can you HEAR me NOW???

I'm tossing around the implications myself. It looks as if Sprint smartphone buyers are going to have some choices to make this holiday season:
1. Motorola Q (no touchscreen, 320x240 resolution)
2. Treo 700wx (touchscreen, 240x240 resolution)
3. Treo 700p (touchscreen, 320x320 resolution, PalmOS)
4. PPC-6700 (touchscreen, 320x240, bulky in Qwerty mode)
(5. Samsung i830?)
I'm personally leaning towards the PPC-6700 still, as the larger keyboard would be helpful for my fat fingers, and the AKU2 update fixed some of the major issues with the phone.

I actually get really excited about this new treos coming out but as #4 pointed out my 6700 has me spoiled. I spent literally HOURS playing with the 700w's in verizon stores and i can't get used to the keyboard anymore.
I was eager to change but every time i play with the keyboard i feel its a step backwards. Everytime i pass by a verizon store i say "ok now IS THE TIME TO BUY IT" but every single time i try the keyboard i get disappointed.
I actually recall now my hands used to hurt a lot when i had my treo 650 and used it a lot.. After I got the 6700 my hands dont hurt anymore. The 6700 keyboard is ergonomically much much better on your hands.
After all this i'm staying with my 6700. If you want one-handed usage just close the keyboard. I dont see any advantage over the treo this way. The 6700 has thge start and OK buttons too... If you want to type you will most likely NOT type one handed anyway!

msmobiles.com is reporting that some advanced specs released on the Sprint 700wx show that it will include a built in GPS receiver. Not sure if that is confirmed yet, but it has been reported by more than one source now. Sadly they also confirmed there will be no built in WiFi. I can't understand why Palm keeps leaving this out on their WM5 devices. When you cannot get a EV-DO signal, WiFi is crucial. Obviously Palm OS cannot support it, but WM5 does. So what's the deal? Are they just trying to limit the advantages between their models? Very Frustrating. I guess I'll have to wait until Sept 12 to see if the GSM version will include WiFi and HSDPA. If so, I'll get that one. If not, the HTC Tytn is the only choice that includes everything. Not the best with one hand, but it has absolutely everything else you could want.

Zordon promotes the new Treo. Maybe he's supplying all the power rangers with a new treo.

I recently purchased a Motorola Q which I have ten days to exchange if not happy with it. I fill I should have gone with a Palms Treo 700wx. Can anybody give me advice on which is better (In your opinion).
