The $500 GSM rotary phone

Sure, we're guessing the belt holster is a bit unwieldy, but the decades-old chassis on Spark Fun's "portable" rotary phone is probably every bit as sturdy as the Symbol MC70's for one-quarter the cash. We'll take ours in beige, please.

If they get the cost down on that a little more and throw in a complimentary "traditional phone" handsfree headset, this might be a good phone for my grandmother.

still, it would be pretty hilarious to be seen cruisin' holding a handset. maybe you could just mount it between the front seats of a car, or in a flip down armrest in the back. it is only a matter of time before this phone gets installed in someone's car on some cable tv car show.
