LG VX8600, VX9900 show signs of life on Verizon site

Spelunking through the nooks and crannies of carriers' websites often yield tidbits on upcoming phones; Verizon's Backup Assistant page is doing the honors today, shedding light on a couple of LGs that'll be dropping shortly. First up is the "big brother to the VX9800," the VX9900, a phone our own Boy Genius told us would be dropping in September -- the 4th to be exact, if Verizon's documentation is to be trusted. Next is the VX8600, which we believe will expand LG's Chocolate franchise in the US to the clamshell form factor. Of course, some of us are still waiting for even a single GSM Chocolate to officially launch stateside, but more power to our CDMA compadres for scoring two of 'em.

I've seen blurry pictures of the 8600 over at Howard Forums, on the Verizon LG board. It's basically the Chocolate flip we've seen from overseas - at least Verizon didn't butcher the aesthetics too terribly much, from what the blurry photos reveal. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd provide a link. But the pictures are there.

The VX9900 is launching September 29th according to this picture of a Verizon document in this post on Howard Forums.

LG has given Verizon Wireless exclusive U.S. rights to the Chocolate. In all likelihood, no GSM version is coming to the U.S.

I'm really disappointed. I don't see any stereo speakers on the 8600 like the 8300 has. That's the reason i didn't really like the Chocolate.

man i really can't wait to see more detailed info about the 9900, especially w/ alleged pda capabilities, but VZW can take all the time they want, i can't tranfser up to a new phone til christmas

It is going to come out in the stores next tuesday.....11/28/06 in the storeS! my friend works at the verizon wireless store and he told me it will come out next tuesday

The vx9900 comes out on november 27th. I held one and it is a bit thiner but it seems wider to me.

I ordered mine today from Verizon (they didn't have any in the store yet) so I should have it in 2 days.
