HTC's Q killin' Excalibur depicted?

We've gotta take this one with a grain of salt, thanks to an unconfirmed source and that sketchy paste job on the screen, but if this pic and its accompanying deets prove true, we're in for a treat. Codenamed "Excalibur," we heard about HTC's attempt at a Q/i320 killer last month, and it seems to be shaping up nicely. Beyond the obvious QWERTY action, the quad-band phone will supposedly feature WiFi, and will be 2mm thicker than the i320. To the side of the screen is an interesting touch-jog strip for scrolling (in lieu of the Q's jog dial) with top and bottom touch buttons to open the Start menu and go back. Looking good HTC, now if you'll just confirm the device, mix in some HSDPA and ship a few to the States at $150 each we'll be all set.

Could Engadget Mobile stop using "killer" and its variations? It's about as cliche as the usage of "EVER."

That and the word "deets".

I really wish the editors here would stop speaking like high-school boys, attempting to look cool and hip. You're adult men...so act your age. For Christ sake, we speak the language of Shakespeare. My internal organs turn to gelatinous paste every time I see immature, over-used, slang words like "deets, peeps, 4 eva" thrown into these stories. It really detracts from the content and shows poor taste.

I actually like the diction and syntax of the Engadget Mobile [and other Weblogs, Inc. sites] writers. It adds a certain...character that is entertaining to read.

While I agree that there is a serious lack of proper English in today's society [when people use "4" instead of "for" or "2" instead of "to", it irks me like no other...], I think the writers here fit the overall character of this and its sister sites.

That's just my two cents.

I think the lingo here is funny. Seems like it's sort of used in an ironic way, like an actor winking at the audience.

As for the device, that keyboard looks familar. Could this whole image be photoshopped-up? Maybe it's a Frankenrumor.
