O2 makes reviving locked phones a little easier

If you've ever found yourself facing a locked phone asking for its PUK code, you know that you're kinda in a bind when that happens. Typically you need to call your carrier, wait the standard 3.44 minutes for a rep to answer, provide some identifying information so they know you're who you say you are, and you get your code. Phone thieves, rejoice: O2 is now offering PUK codes through its website to anyone providing little more than a phone number. Granted, very few people actually lock their SIMs down with a PIN and PUK, but for those that do on O2, your safety margin just got a little smaller.[Via textually.org]

Humm. O2 have done this for at least a year i think! I used it when i was o2, and i've been with orange for well over a year! Orange also offer this service, once you've signed up to their website.

Yup, they've both been doing this for yonks. T-Mo also. No experience with Voda or Three, so I'll leave them to the next guy.

In Saudi Arabia when you get a GSM Chip they give you an envelope in it which has your PIN PUK and PUK2 written in it. and thats been done back there for the past.. oh 5 years or so.

Im pretty sure Voda do not offer such a service i can see advantages to this kind of service but i do not like the idea of chavs who steal mobiles to easily break my sim lock!!

Tmobile and Orange have been doing this for years thru their UK websites.
