Waterproof meets FOMA: the SO902iWP+
If we had a dollar for every story we've heard of a flushed cellphone, we'd have, like, ten dollars. NTT DoCoMo's new alphabet soup, the SO902iWP+, may not get you your phone back if it makes its way to your town's sewage system, but it might just be working when it finally gets fished out. Besides sporting the usual FOMA goodies like a stunning UI on a QVGA display, camera, and music player, the candybar is waterproof for up to 30 minutes in 1 meter of water. We're not sure who makes the SO902iWP+ for NTT, but since it includes both a Memory Stick Duo slot and FeliCa support, we have our guesses.

FYI "SO" is the prefix that DoCoMo uses for Sony.
D = Mitsubishi (which means "3 Diamonds," hence "D")
P = Panasonic
SH = Sharp
N = NEC
NM = Nokia
F = Fujitsu
etc.
Less than half of the people owning these phones actually know who made it.

This is the naming scheme for Docomo phones
(maker)(series number)(additional specifications)
So SO902iWP+ is a sony, in the second 902 series(it goes 900,900i,901,901i,902,902i,etc) and is waterproof.
SO-Sony (NOT Sony Ericsson, which is sold outside the U.S. only)
SH-Sharp
N-NEC (currently the most popular phones due to the impression that they are easy to use)
P-Panasonic
T-Toshiba
F-Fujitsu
If anybody cares

Ummm...it's Sony Ericsson. Or I should say at least my SO9021 is made by Sony Ericsson. (^_-)
You also forgot D = Mitsubishi...

oh, one other interesting thing. You can't necessarily use the memory stick duo slot as a means of identifying a Sony product. Docomo's "Music Porter" series of phones are made by Mitsubishi but have the dreaded memory stick duo slot.
(Ps. my sony ericsson is a SO902i...not a 9021...)

I was in Yokohama earlier on today checking the cell phones at Bic Camera, and they had one of these.. it's ugly as fu**

I'm glad that other people commented saying it's quite clear that Sony Ericsson made this phone. Aside from the fact that its model number starts with SO and it has a Memory Stick slot, merely one or two clicks gets you this:
