Actually, this shows me a commitment to making sure that they're service is impeccable; they're putting (some) of their money where their mouth is and saying: "we're so sure you won't want to leave, we'll let you out easy if you want." Besides, they're already on the extremely expensive side (vzw vs. sprint data plans), so this is an added incentive to pay the verizon premium.

Smart move, I think.
