Verizon releases new LG V with V CAST Music
Verizon Wireless has released an updated version of the LG V handset, which is actually the same as the old LG V handset, only now it supports Verizon's V CAST music service and VZ Navigator turn-by-turn direction service. Even without those fancy new perks, the EV-DO-equipped LG V was a decently feature-packed phone, a 1.3 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and a MicroSD slot. Verizon also still lists the new V as having an "embedded MP3 player" in addition to V CAST Music, which would be a change in strategy on Verizon's part if true, as they've previously removed MP3 support on phones with V CAST (unless you buy Verizon's logic that the phones do play MP3s so long as they're convert to WMAs first). You can snag one for $149 with a two-year contract, or $199 for a one-year deal.[Via MobileTracker]

I am sooo waiting for the VX9900 from LG!!! Thanks to your FCC Friday 2 weeks ago I can't wait till July something when LG will release more photos and specs! I think the only difference will be external, such as weight, scale, and (hopefuly) thickness!!!
Thank YOU Verizon!

This would do well on GSM networks with (cough UMTS) or EDGE. Though, I dont think the GSMs are offering a music DL service, I dont believe its necessary to transfer music to the player itself. Nonetheless (and things of this nature) it would be a nice change from the other overbloated KB phones that are out there.

hey guys,
i've had this phone since march?
I love it! yea it's a little big but once you have it in your hand, you can feel the quality of the phone. the plastic, the keys, the screen is really nice on the inside, and the photos are above par compared to most other phones. i love it. the keyboard inside has a nice tactile feel to it that also seems like it'll last a very long time. vcast generally sucks. I used to have it. But it does have a built in mp3 player andit works just fine. =)

The 9900 will be thinner than the 9800. It will be a cellphone pda "hybrid", not an odd flip cell phone. Dont expect this phone until about september.
