Our Canadian readers drooling over Verizon's recent release of the
Motorola Q may not have much longer to wait. In fact, we can say with certainty that it's coming -- Telus' own site says so -- but naturally the term "coming soon" is open to interpretation. It's safe to say that Verizon's
long arm of exclusivity on the Q extends into the Great White North, and while we don't know how long it runs, six months is a safe guess. In the mean time, we trust Telus customers can keep themselves occupied with the nifty retro Motorola M800 bag phones they appear to sell.

According to various dealers on howard forums, it was supposed to be released today but has been delayed due to shipping issues. The coming soon page is up already, so I doubt it will be 6 months:

This is absolutely stupid...I'm Canadian, and first of all Telus blows...HUGE...secondly this is old school digital service, not even GSM, have fun using this North American traveler...how many ways can you say USELESS...business users, stick to Rogers or Fido for global use.

The Q is now available at Telus locations (It's June 14th), although it's very expensive: $600 before contract rebates.
