Samsung ZX20 poised to usher in HSDPA age on Cingular
It could end up being a photo finish between the ZX20 and the LG CU500 in the race to become the first HSDPA handset on Cingular's 3G network -- but for the ZX20's sake, we hope it launches first, because it's the ugly duckling when you put these two first-gen devices side by side. At any rate, we can now say with some certainty that the ZX20 will support video calling after the FCC dropped some user's manual goodness on us. Besides that and the aforementioned HSDPA, the ZX20 adds Bluetooth 2.0, but is otherwise a dead ringer for its pappy, the UMTS-only ZX10.

Cingular's video calling feature will be called "Video Share Calling" and the zx20 will be the first phone to have it.

Editors of Engadget: I sent in this tip about how I found the ZX20 with video calling on the FCC website 2 days ago. I started the thread on it at HowardForums. Why is it you ignore my tip and wait for a website to post an article on it?? Hmm??? You people.....

Why is this phone so goddamn UGLY? You'd think a 3.5G phone, a bleeding edge tech device that is as sophisticated as wireless technology can get, would look as sexy on the outside as it is on the inside. No, not so - this phone is butt ugly. And, c'mon, admit it: you didn't buy your phone because it was practical. You bought it because you think it looks cool.

Thank goodness they noted where the display was in the photo, otherwise I never would have found it!

Hi, I test Cing's network using Samsung phones. I highly suggest going with an LG model. I've never used them, but the Samsungs are the kind of device that's nice at first but then the flaws start to appear and become extremely annoying. I'd go with the LG in an instant just because I hate the Sammys.
I also think they're ugly compared to LG's models, but that's your call =)
