The Sidekick rocks. I loved my SK2 (on the data plan), but had to carry a 2nd phone on a more reliable network for voice calls. If this would only come out on Cingular.

I find myself poised between the SK3 and the Motorola Q (though Verizon's phone/data plans are show stopper for me, maybe someone else will carry it eventually).

I replaced my accidently crushed sidekick2 with an MDA. While the hardware is sweet, Windows Mobile is terrible. Not just the OS either, the included apps feel incredibly cludgey and lacking functionality compared to the well-integrated and nicely designed apps of the sidekick. The MDA has also crashed more times in the 6 weeks than my SK2 did in a few years. It's almost a joke. If the SK3 has EDGE (I have gotten used to the faster data access), the MDA is hitting ebay.

morgan : the sidekick 3, does indeed have EDGE technology. Also, its at least a triband phone, including the 850 band. So, better reception and converage is on the way for the sidekicks future.
