Qtek to get its HTC Muse, the S300, early
Remember the HTC Muse Windows Mobile 5.0
multimedia phone? You know, the one with 4GB of NAND storage dedicated to media files as well as dual cameras,
including a 2.1 megapixel shooter with flash? Well anyway, DigiTimes is reporting that HTC will be shipping Qtek its
version of the Muse, the S300 (not to be confused with Dopod's S300, based on
another HTC design called the Star Trek), earlier than expected,
as part of HTC's commitment to first release their HSDPA-enabled handsets in European markets. Qtek should be getting
their Muses, which also sport 416MHz processors, 64MB of both RAM and ROM, WiFi, Bluetooth, and FM tuners, sometime in
the third quarter, according to "market sources." Besides its lack of a keyboard (or even a numberpad, for
that matter) and frustrating inclusion of that 240 x 240 display, the Muse looks to us like a pretty hot model, and
will certainly give Nokia's N91, Sony Ericsson's W950i, and Samsung's i300 musicphones some strong competition.[Via the::unwired]

MAMA want's this really bad. Like nothing I've ever wanted. Like Nokia 8800 want.

No keyboard or ITU keypad? What then, touch screen?
Nick @ May 2nd 2006 7:57PM
Atanas Boev - yes, a touch screen, as with most HTC Pocket PCs ;)
Really looking forward to the next generation of HTC PPCs, my Qtek 8310 is looking for a big brother to keep it company :)

That IS pretty slick looking.

This is not slick looking. It's dumb. square screen and look at all that wasted space below. Could have totally been a qwerty. But with a square screen it sucks. You can't watch movies properly on it. You need landscape for that.

can we add 128mb of ram and rom? (i've had windows mobile devices with 64mb and it is not enough) also, how about GPS? and if bluetooth, make it 2.0. Don't forget to add a memory card slot, usb connection, and a 3.5mm jack as the standard. now, if we can just add a qwerty keyboard as a slider or at the bottom, this would be the "killer" device i'm looking for.

I really like the form factor on this but the 240X240 screen rather than 480X480 seems to really bother a lot of people. I realize this gives them a viable reason to release a "refresh" down the line with a 480X480 screen, but where does that leave early adopters?

This is the ugliest phone i have ever seen. They put almost perfect specs into it apart from the screen but it's an actual black brick! as long as it's got a2dp i may get it.
