A2DP finally available on WinMo 5.0 AKU2
Hallelujah! After
what has seemed like an endless wait, coupled with a crushing letdown
by Microsoft, Windows Mobile 5.0 users who've upgraded to the AKU2 firmware can finally listen to stereo audio in glorious,
wireless freedom. Users of numerous WM5 devices over at the xda-developers are reporting success with a series of files
and registry hacks, posted by sas90850 and assembled into a handy CAB by Khuanchai, which enable the A2DP Bluetooth
profile that was so conspicuously absent on the current round of AKU2 updates. Khuanchai's file can be found by
following the "Read" link, and before you freak out, you need to register as a forum member before you're
able to even see the download. Now if you'll excuse us, we need to hit the local electronics store and pick up a pair
of BT 'phones, pronto.

If you guys manage to find a pair which don't suffer from interference, low quality or a suddenly useless battery (a la HP's offering) let us know!

The Jabra headphones are great.

geez, what is the deal with bluetooth support. I wish bluetooth would die already. I dont think there are many bluetooth devices that actually support the full bt spec and users are allways left high and dry and forced to hack features in. Same story different version of win mobile

#3...unfortunately you didn't read the story...the carriers left ADP out my friend not Microsoft. The BT support for A2DP is delivered functionality in WM5.
Second carriers are disabling BT in the devices not the OS.
Get the story straight.

I used the SP5m AKU2 on my Cingular 2125 (Cingular hasn't released AKU2). Then I used the tweaks described to turn on my wirelss Stereo BT profile to use with my HT820. Last night, I was jammin my booty off. I'm so excited. IT works great. No cords and no more 1 ear solutions with an iPod and BT headset

Let me correct you.
The carriers have not ommitted the profile deliberately. It doesnt work as well as needed and Microsoft are currently ironing out some of the bugs.
I have this in writing!!

Well I've tried and tried but I can't get this to work on my Treo 700w. It works, it pairs, and I even can get stereo sound to the headphones but it is VERY broken up and staticy....
