Leaked shots of the Blackberry 7130c

Is it just us, or are RIM's Blackberry devices getting svelter by the minute? The latest pictures to surface are of their unannounced 7130c phone for Cingular. The device shares the keypad ethics of the rest of the 7100 series, though it does seem to have its very own sense of style, a definite departure from the 7130e which was launched last year. The good news is that the phone seems to be trimming the bulk, with its front dominated by the screen and keypad. The bad news is that's all we know so far. We'll keep you posted.

Blackberrys suck. The only thing they have going for them functionality wise is E-Mail Push, and WinMo 5 devices are getting that functionality with a patch, and some already have THAT. Fark Blackberrys and thier owners.

#1: If you don't like BlackBerries, don't buy one. Why get so worked up about something that has no impact on your life?

This looks like the love child of a Sony Ericsson P900 and BlackBerry 7100. I like it.

It has more impact on my life than you think. Each and every Blackberry "zelot" (I say zelot because fanboys know they are fanboys, zelots dont know they are brainwashed) tries to tell me and my WinMo 5 totin' friends/family that their phone suck, and the only reason in e-mail push, and thats small potatoes if yer phone is set to check every so often.

The form factor sucks, it has a big screen that you can't even touch wich makes it as useless as the Moto Q, and they are way too overpriced for the extremely limited functionality.

I've got the 8125 Cingular WinMo 5 PocketPC phone. I can do everything a Crapberry does, and more... Including type without hassling on a crappy treo-esqe keyboard. And TomTom Navigator 5 runs great on it... And my unlimited data is cheaper and much more useable.

Fark Blackberrys and the zelot followers they have created...

Just FYI, these pictures are NOT from a Cingular 7130c. They are pictures of a SunCom 7130g. They should be the same form-factor and model, but the end result from Cingular could potentially have different casing and coloring (from someone who has seen one, it does).

It is a 64MB device and is EDGE-capable. It pretty much should have the same exact capabilities that the 8700 series has but in the slim-line form-factor.

Pitta... you're not presenting a very convincing argument against "zelots"... by which I'm sure you mean "zealot." In fact, given your comments so far, you've shown yourself to be rather immature and a "zealot" yourself for WinMo with no good argument against RIM and Blackberry. It seems to me that you're the one trying to convince everyone who's not using a Windows Mobile phone that their phones suck, which doesn't make you any better than they are.

Blackberry users aren't idiots. By and large, they are mostly businesspeople who want a simple no nonsense solution. That means they don't need or want all of the features of a Windows Mobile device. They don't need a 2MP camera. They don't need to be able to interface with a GPS unit. And they don't necessarily need a touch screen.

What they need is reliable email push, and an interface that supports one handed operation. Your Cingular 8125 is a great device, but it is by no means possible to do all the things a blackberry can do with one hand. You mention the blackberry screen is non-touch. While someone used to PocketPC may think that is horrible, you really have to keep it in perspective. Putting a touch screen on the Blackberry would be 100% contrary to the one handed operation useage model. By definition, if you've got a stylus in one hand, and the device in the other, you're not one handed.

You think that the Blackberry sucks because you're clearly a PocketPC user. That's fine, but there is no such thing as a one size fits all model for every user out there. You seem to think that everyone should be using PocketPCs.

Like it or not, there are people out there whose usage models make the Blackberry a better choice than a PDA phone, but there are also other people where something like the 8125 would be just right.

There's no such thing as one size fits all. It's all about choice. Blackberry is just one choice, and the fact that it bothers you so much just shows that you are a zealot.

Now before you blast me and call me a Blackberry zealot, let me just say that I don't even own a Blackberry. I work with Windows Mobile 5.0 every day at work, and I prefer PocketPC over smartphones or the blackberry type device, but that doesn't mean that I don't understand why someone would use those devices.

I used a PPC for the longest time, Treo for a while too, but just recently switched to Blackberry and have never been happier. The one handed operation is just what I need. I can navigate a website, excel document, calendar or anything else 10x easier with my scroll wheel than I ever could with my stylus.

The beauty of the Blackberry lies in its ability to balance simplicity with functionality.

Basically...Blackberries are extremely reliable, functional, and easy to use devices that appeal to the large number of both tech and non-tech orientated professionals out there.

The second worst phone I have ever owned - the worst was an LG that dropped every other call. I had a Treo 650. It was OK - well, at least things work they way they are supposed to.

All kinds of funny things happen: email messages become undeletable, the email goes into some funny mode where it tries to guess your next letter and it then takes you 5 times as long to type an email address. And this weekend the best yet was error message: 348.

No way to get the software to recognize the phone. Tried every conceivable combination with the Blackberry girl - battery in/battery out, USB in, USB out, enter command 2 times fast, etc.

What a joke. The people at Verizon all are trained to say, "They apologize." I'd like someone to throw a pie made of manure at their CEO. I pay Verizon over $1300 a year for this customer disservice. Wonderful. Take your network and shove it where the moon don't shine.
