Nokia is blaming software
problems for the delays in their
N91,
N71, N80, E60,
E61,
and E71 phones. No word on what exactly is at fault, but Nokia does claim they'll be shipping the N91 -- which was
slated for a holiday release last year -- this week. The N71 and N80 are supposed to follow later this month. Nokia
claims the business-centric E61, E61, and E71 -- which all missed their March launch target -- are still wrapping up in
software testing, and that the E61 will get priority for release. In other news, Nokia managed to to get a class-action
lawsuit by a New York judge dismissed last Friday. The 77-page opinion thoroughly trounced the opposition, which had
filed suit in April 2004.

So...the N91 is being released...but WHO gets it? Anybody in the states???
I tried playing with a N90 from CompUSA the other day and couldn't get a 3G signal with it since that band sits on 2100Mhz...sigh...
Anybody hear anything different for the N91???

Interesting. That's good to know, because I was wondering about the E-series. The more I wait, though, the more I think about getting a SE M600 instead..

Agreed #2.
Cingular keeps telling me that the 6282 is here and about to be released but everytime I ask about it, I get the "we have yet to approve the device and we don't know when it will happen".
C'mon left hand, talk to the right!!!
The only two 3G phones they have are about as good as a paperweight w/no real functions other than a phone. The 3G functions are decent, but w/o a good screen to rely on, no voice dialing, good BT (which only one phone currently has and is only 1.1), and of course the fact that they are bulkier than even my hw6515 well....

FYI, guys, I read that Reuters story, and the news you're recounting is all about Europe releases - not US releases. The US versions of the phones are stalled indefinitely in carrier approvals.

A local newspaper Kauppalehti had a small article of N91 delays, which they say are caused becouse of DRM issues (WMA?).

1. "So...the N91 is being released...but WHO gets it? Anybody in the states???"
Nobody that I've heard. CompUSA might do something with T-Mobile like they did with the N90, but that would be the extent of it.
4: I'm pretty sure that the target market for most of these phones (ESPECIALLY the N80) only wants it out in Europe so they can import it.
And for the record, some proto N91s are already out...

According to http://n91.wordontheblog.com/
the delays were due to problems getting the Windows Media Janus DRM working. Also according to the same blog, the N91 will be available this week in Europe and next week in Asia. Availability in USA is TBA.

Go testers go! Great job in finding the bugs. And props to Nokia for not releasing defective phones.
