Cingular and Radio Shack get Moto SLVR L6
If you dig the shape and
style of the SLVR L7 but don't want to hand over $200 just
for the dubious privilege of being able to store 100 songs on it via iTunes, you may want to head over to Radio Shack,
which currently has an exclusive on the $50 (with Cingular service plan) SLVR L6. The cheaper phone has the same form
factor as its iTunes-enhanced sibling (though it's clad in SLVR, er, silver, instead of black), and has most of L7's
other features, including Bluetooth connectivity, Update: Thanks to several commenters who point out that the phone's actual features don't match those claimed on Radio Shack's promo site. So, if you're looking for EDGE, a music player or several of the other claimed features, look elsewhere. If you're looking for something that approximates the appearance of the original SLVR for a quarter of the price, go for it! (And while you're at it, let Radio Shack know that you're not too happy about them playing fast and loose with the specs.)

The L7 does not have EDGE... Motorola at first said it would, but the current specs does not have it. Further info here:

For $150 you can pick up the 1GB iPod NANO.
Considering the SLVR L6 only has 10MB of non-upgradable memory, you may want to do just that.

There is nothing about an audio player(itunes or otherwise) in the downloadable manual on the moto web site. radioshack.com also claims this phone comes with a 128MB transflash card. I don't see anything about a transflash memory in the manual either.

OK I own this phone and I love it, but unless they are talking about the Player that all Moto phones have for listening to ringtones, there is no media player. And if definately could not have iTunes!

I reviewed the import version before Cingular picked it up: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1904793,00.asp
It does NOT have a memory card slot, enough memory for any kind of music, or EDGE. But it is awfully pretty.
Now I hould probably get off of these fine folks' Web site and get myself on a plane to CTIA ...

The Motorola L6 is actually being carried by some Cingular stores. What I mean is that not all stores are corporate. Some are authorized sellers, allowing them to carry more then what Cingular offers. Their is a company called "American Cellular" http://www.wirelessreadyornot.com which is located in the CT, MA area that do sell the L6 in store. They have had it in stock for about 5 months now. It is not a Cingular branded phone, but it is loaded with all the cingular software, and works great!
