Treo 700w daylight savings time bug?
Nope, this ain't no April Fool's joke, people, this is the real deal: when everybody's clocks skip forward an
hour for Daylight Savings Time this year (at 2:00AM on the first Sunday in April -- i.e. early tomorrow morning), your
Treo 700w's calendar appointments may not. Like putting your WinMo phone in travel mode to another time zone,
apparently a bug in the 700w may cause your appointments to time-shift back one hour -- so your noon appointment will
stay put, so to speak, at 11:00AM. Palm's got some workarounds on their site so you shouldn't be too put out, so make
sure you sort it out soon before Monday morning when you're an hour early to all your meetings. Of course, this
wouldn't be a problem if America would just get rid of DST -- Arizona, Hawaii, and portions of Indiana excepted, of
course.[Via TreoCentral]

Indiana is moving to DST state-wide in 2007

I discovered this myself on the 27th and ended up doing the second workaround by turning off network time. Unfortunately half of my users had manually changed their appointments by an hour to correct it so they will be messed up when the time does change.
Why doesn't Verizon or Palm have a good way to submit bugs like this? I have 2 other bugs that I've tried to get them to solve but Palm says it is a Verizon bug and Verizon says it is a Palm bug...

My K700i did the same. Despite the fact that the phone's clock said 0730, and the alarm was set to go off at 0730, it went off at 0830.

Actually, "chris", Indiana is moving to DST THIS year (2006). The entire country is changing the DST dates NEXT year (2007).

I don't have the network time set on my 700w. But I do seem to have a lot of other problems with this phone and the service. This is my second one, the first had so many issues that it was beyone bizzare. The worst being that the phone would send out emails from my sent folder as text messages to people in my address book. I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how much of an issue THAT was. But the service "PUSHES" or syncs data when it feels like it. Forget that 20 minutes interval. I can go days without a sync or push. I have to initiate them myself over half of the time. I like the features of this phone, but the overall service that they are selling is crap.

I just had a user uncheck "Use Network Timezone" and "Enable local network time", save the changes, and then check it back again and the calendar entries were put back into place.
Possible solution?
