I carry something similar in my camera bag, it's called a mag-lite. I can also beat the hell out of some wanna-be cell phone photographer when they get on my nerves with it.

Note: Nothing wrong with cell phone camera's in general, just don't go around telling people you can match the quality of a 6MP (or higher) DSLR, it just ain't gonna happen.
