Oklahoma to ban cellphone use by teen drivers
Following the lead of
states like
Virgnia, the Oklahoma Senate has voted to ban cellphone use by teen drivers. Compared to other state bans, however,
the Oklahoma bill is fairly weak. Teens would still be allowed to use hands-free headsets -- though texting while behind
the wheel would be verboten. And, of course, the bill does nothing to stop older drivers from clutching their
clamshells when they're cruising 24 hours from Tulsa.

I live in oklahoma... I'm glad for that bill... I can't tell you how many times I have seen some teen girl talking on her phone while driving... And most of the time they'll be all over the road.

24 Hours from Tulsa? So... Washington D.C., Central Mexico, or did you mean somewhere in Canada?

It should be for everyone, not just young people. Usually old people are the ones that drive worse while on the phone. Young people these days are used to multitasking, and can handle it quite well. Either way, they're more apt to use a Bluetooth headset.

You know they aren't serious about road safety until they ban women from driving. If anything, the cells might have kept the ladies from the notoriously deadly base/eyeliner combo.

"Ok" people need to learn how to drive period, im from North Texas and they drive in the freakin left lane and go 40 MPH. Personally I think they should ban OKLAHOMA people from driving at all!
