Ever hold a ten megapixel cameraphone? Naw, neither had we, not until today anyway. Straight from the
floor at CeBIT, we've got the
Samsung
SCH-B600 with an integrated 10 megapixel shooter. It's never gonna come anywhere close to the US or Europe so
nuzzle up to your monitor real close-like and take in this beauty. Click on for more pics.
At least they can't brag about it being RAZR thin -- still, not bad.
Camera controls right up top where you'd expect 'em.

I don't understand why we don't get the good freaking phones. Are we techno cavemen by comparison to Korean consumers? I would think we'd be a huge market for such hot gadgets. Commenters, sound off...

WOW! 10mp...but why would anybody want a 10mp camera? unless you are going to blow up every pic and print it like a poster! The optical zoom is brilliant though as having digital zoom is just pointless as it creates a blocky digitial image.

Now why cant we Americans have a camera phone with over 2 MP's. We got these Cheesy VGA and 1.3 MP cameras. This isnt right damn you FCC Damn You!!!!!
CharlieT @ Mar 9th 2006 11:12AM
Could someone explain to me why we don't get any better cellphones in this country? Is it because of the greed and narrowmindedness of the four major carriers? Is it the FCC? Is it the phone manufacturers? What?
Hak @ Mar 9th 2006 11:23AM
1, 2, & 3: As much as us Americans would like to have hi-tech phones like these over here, it's only common sense that we won't get them as fast as Korea/Japan (who cater to their homelands first of course). Yes, I understand that with the whole FCC process, it can go a little faster since we don't even currently have any phones out that are more than 2 megapixels. But still, understand this: when America releases something first, it usually takes awhile for it to get to the rest of the world (same with cell phones). Asia gets the cool cell phones first, then they move on to Europe, and finally us (don't ask me why they decided to go that route instead of the opposite way which would make us get it before the Europeans). But don't worry, I hear we're getting that 3.2 megapixel camera phone from Sony Ericsson this July 2006 or something. Hey, it's better than nothing. For now, let's just sit back and drool over this technology.
P.S. It's not about greed and narrowmindedness. If it was, then we'd never get cell phones from these countries, period. We'd just get strictly American phones made from American cell phone manufacturers such as Motorola (yes, Motorola is American, not Japanese like some people think).

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, awesome Blackberries that work like a charm, these are a few of my favorite things! Whenever I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad!
soundboy64 @ Mar 9th 2006 1:24PM
what's the optical zoom on that? *squints*

Home Markets are given, as they should be, by most if not all manufatcturers.
getting back to the point. a) i cant see, anyone i know, using this thing.
b)it doesnt look THAT thick compared to the v3.
Stephen @ Mar 10th 2006 4:57PM
Although 10 megapixel sounds good. I wonder if camera has the optics to take advantage of it. Many of the regular digital camera at the 5MP range skimp on the Lens.
Jon @ Jul 5th 2006 6:48AM
No bad :)

Hmmm... I feel like moving to Japan or South Korea now. All I need to do is learn some Japanese, I guess. Ironically, India doesn't get them sooner either. If it were, then I'd just import one from there!
