T-Mobile offers customers free weekend WiFi
We've taken a shot or two at T-Mobile in our day (though
only takes on the "conventional wisdom," we assure you), but we're always ones to give credit where credit is
due, so we have to tip our hats to the 'Mob for rolling out a new feature that is actually beneficial to existing
customers. Usually when a wireless carrier offers a new deal, it is only to entice new customers or current ones to
renew their contracts, so the fact that T-Mobile is gifting all its subscribers with free weekend WiFi access at any of
its 6,500 HotSpots is a refreshing change of pace. T-Mobbers need only visit a certain website while within a HotSpot's
sphere of influence, where they enter their mobile number and wait for a return SMS with the necessary pass code.
Although there is no announced termination date for this program, T-Mobile's site clearly states that free WeekendFi is
a limited-time offer, so our advice is to go nuts and get your download-on while the gettin' is still good.

Not knowing entirely how this works, you access their website to enter your mobile number to get a code that gives you internet access? I'm assuming that you can access the T-Mobile site as a default?

I have used T-Mobile's hotspot daypass before. I was not impressed. The connection kept being lost the most signal strength I got was 50%.
I spend most of the time waiting for the connection to come back.
Yet I still pay my $10 for the privilege of using their hotspot.
I am better off using my cell as a modem.
