Motorola just got FCC approval today for their
"Wireless Wheels" remote controlled cars, developed in cooperation with Nikko, that
we spotted at
CES. The cars, expected to be used as a tie-in between Nextel's NASCAR sponsorship and its iDen handsets, are
controlled using a Zigbee dongle that can either be plugged into an iDen or a dual-joystick remote. If it's
connected to the iDen handset, users can see animation of the car's movement on the phone's screen as well as hear
sounds and feel the phone vibrate as the car motors along. Each Wireless Wheels set includes a car, a remote and a
dongle, although there's no word on how much they'll cost.

i'd rather see a wirelessly controlled wheelchair than this thing. good god man, what on earth would i do with this?
being able to control a wheelchair with a cell phone - thats not only cool - it kind of benefits the physically challenged in the long run :)
