Bluetrek's water-resistant X2 Bluetooth headset
We're not sure you'll be managing much
conversation underwater with the new X2 water "resistant" Bluetooth headset from Bluetrek, but it's nice to
know you won't get the shock of your life from a little rain. The X2 rocks the Bluetooth 1.2 spec, claims 14 hours of
talk time and 500 hours of standby time, but its main claim to fame is the ruggedization, which doesn't make many
promises, but might save you from an expensive accident or two.

I think you missed the whole point of water resistant bluetooth headset. It's for when it's raining outside and you don't have to worry about getting the headset wet. You can keep your phone comfortably in your pocket/bag/whatever.

This is scary - just yesterday, I was wanting a water-resistant bluetooth headset. Here it shows up today on Engadget Mobile.

Earlier this winter, I went to take off my Moo BT headset. I accidentally knocked it out of my ear and it landed in the slush. I picked it up and wiped it down pretty quick, but sadly, that was the last time it worked. I'd buy this thing.

I accidently washed my Motorola HS820 in my washing machine last week. Happy to report that although technically not water resistant it is working perfectly fine after a few hours of air drying in my kitchen.

It only takes one good puddle to lose your favorite headset. I would say this is overdue. The question is how much sound quality is lost with the water resistant feature?

I just think the item actually looks great. I have had BlueTrek products before (the G2) and the quality is fabulous, I very hardly have to recharge the thing battery holds for weeks and it is just cool to call someone from under the shower...

Has anyone ever gotten this device wet? I mean like really rained on? how does it work afterwards?
