NES emulator puts classic games on cellphones
Forget those dinky games designed for
your cellphone. If you want real action -- and by that we mean Donkey Kong -- you owe it to yourself to hand over $10
for vNES, an emulator for Symbian and J2ME phones that will let you play classic 8-bit NES games right there on your
cellphone. Install it, hunt down those game ROMs (the program has a built-in downloader) and get busy![Via Joystiq]

Hey man, thats cool!

Wow, sorry guys but you're kinda slow.
There's emu's for pretty much every x to 16bit console ever made available, both for windows mobile and symbian (and some are for some other mobile os'es too). Oh and, most are for free (and opensource) so I realy wouldn't bother paying for such a tool (except maybe vSun for symbian).
Just do a google for emame or eemame, picodrive, vsun, pocketsnes, scummvm, smsplus, zxboy, fmsx ... the list goes on.
Heck, if this is truly news to you, no wonder most engadget readers never understood the true value of an N-Gage.

oh, i forgot to mention. the emulator that's mentioned in this artilce is a peice of trash.

Not only is this illegal, but I wouldn't pay for an emulator that /may/ run slowly.
Personally, I hope this gets shut down.

If this actually works at reasonable speeds, I don't understand why nintendo isn't offering this already on a pay per download basis. I mean, come on! Every one else is doing it.

FYI, "play" option crashes on Treo 600 w/ WebSphere. :(
Dr. B @ Feb 19th 2006 4:56AM
I have NesEM for my Treo 650. Incredible fun, when you've got hundreds of ROMS to choose from!

I have this on my nokia 6670. It`s great that we can still play the old classics. And play them on a mobile phone. I also have a gameboy emulator, a gamegear/master system emulator on my phone and they work great! I think the old classics are always the best.
