Special Edition PEBL for Oscar nominees
In addition to getting a shot at one of those little statues, some Oscar nominees are getting a little something extra from Motorola in their swag bags this year: a special-edition, gunmetal-gray PEBL, along with an H700 Bluetooth headset and three months of service from T-Mobile, all wrapped in a stylish custom-made keepsake box suitable for display or auctioning on eBay. Unfortunately, if you've been nominated for, say, sound mixing -- or even screenwriting -- you're out of luck. The only noms who rate are those up for Best Director, Best Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Actor/Actress. Rumor is the rest of the nominees will get leftover ROKRs and $5 iTunes gift cards tossed in a brown paper bag.

Happy to see a new site from the folks at engadget. As a pda user since 1985, (Casio Digital Diary), I'm pleased to see the evolution the PDA/Phones are making. I'm a Treo 700w owner, first converged unit after years of iPAQs, and believe the marketplace will be pleased with hardware software combos like it as both continue to evolve into the perfect unit, if such is possible! Meantime, I'll use my iPAQ hx4700 as my main brain.

I wouldn't mind getting one of those brown paper bags.
One of my pet peeves... those that can afford and already have phone service get all of this schwag for free while us regular non-celeb chumps have to find a way to get the latest and greatest.
