Sony Ericsson's HBH-DS970 stereo Bluetooth headset with remote
Sony Ericsson just announced their HBH-DS970 Stereo Bluetooth 2.0 headset with remote control. Yeah,
it's not completely wireless since you still have those cables dropping down to the Bluetooth-embedded remote. But hey,
you want the remote anyway, and by not strapping those bulky Bluetooth cans to your ears we expect you'll
be able to rock the house for the full 6 hours spec'd with less fatigue. Call coming in? No problem, son, since the
caller ID and number slaps right-up on the remote's display allowing you to accept or reject the call even if you are
listening to music on another Bluetooth-enabled device. Although it doesn't say in the announcement, that remote should
wirelessly control any Bluetooth device throwing down the AVRCP
profile, Sony Ericsson or
not. Expect these to ship in the second quarter for a yet to be determined price.

Finally, an all-weather, night-fighting BT headset that actually looks cool too. Praise the end of uhura-style/tin can headsets!

At least I can put this one in my pocket and it looks good. I hope they will sell it in Hong Kong when I go visit in May (we all know the Asian countries are selling all the good stuff 6 months to a year ahead of the US).

this set reminds me of an awful lot of the hbh-200. it had a similar bluetooth attatchment that i needed to check for CLI. a bit difficult to use, i discarded it because i didnt want to use a set with wires. i later replaced with an 'akono' that also had a Caller Line Identification feature.
I am, however very interested in this set since it is a stereo headset and not just one ear piece attatched to a bluetooth 'remote' so it does have more potential. i just wish there was a solution that didnt just have us juggling through wiring and at the sametime, something that isnt that bulky.

Looks sick. I wonder if it would work with my Treo as I have been looking for a nice stero headset that would give me a reason to stay away from my laptop and workstation a bit more.
If not, that W950 would make for a really nice accessory with this.

I purchase one of these after the dismal performance of the Motorola 8-something bluetooth. I have a treo, it works fine with the phone, but I haven't found it to work with p-tunes. I have yet to figure out why (how I found this site was looking for same). If I figure it out, I'll get back to you.
