Nokia's got 770 followups in the works
When we heard Nokia's got
followups to their 770 in the works, we weren't exactly surprised.
They had, after all, more or less stated intentions to further the line after its first run in the US and abroad.
Apparently they'll be answering the 770 fanboys' prayers (or at least our own, anyway) by adding a full QWERTY keyboard
to the device; Nokia was also sure to mention they're on track to launch with Google-based VoIP (via Talk, perhaps?).

I would hope the keyboard would be some kind of attachable accessory and not hard wired
Then, again, I still thinking that they should stop pretending that it's not a PDA and add a calendar.

This tool would be great for us college students and those other lazy people who love using the computer while sprawled on the couch. I think the keyboard is a great idea, since handwriting recognition is shaky at best.

Strange, I commented on engadget's main site on this, and then I get redirected to this site if I click on the comments. Maybe its my browser's cache, or maybe something's going wacky in the matrix.

This is meant to be primarily an internet browser appliance that will get its connection from a wifi browser or bluetooth (phone or computer). No doubt it will be compatible with Nokia phones with bluetooth. As an owner, I can say that it's basic functionality is perfectly fine. It's instant on and has a great screen. An updated version would be nice.
So, it will never be a phone. But it is kind of a phone accessory that works with wifi. I was in a mall recently and found at least eight wifi networks of different types, including the open wifi network at the Apple Store. Still easier to surf the web in the actual Apple Store though.

Does anyone know if this can be used with VOIP? For example Vonage's softphone.
